This is an amazingly important project led by the highly skilled Marcin Jakubowski, although they're already fairly well funded it's totally worth chucking a few coins into their bucket and they need all the 'True Fans' they can get because the're working on such a vast project.
RepRap ProjectRepRap was the first of the low-cost 3D printers and started the open-source 3D printer revolution, the project has grown rapidly and currently they are the focus point, ground work or facilitators of many, if not most, open source hardware projects and a guiding light to the FLOSH movement in general.

The project funds two paid developers and supplies equipment and materials to volunteer researchers, this program has already inspired many collaboration and reproductions and looks set to be remembered as one of the most historically noteworthy inventions of out era - well worth giving them a few coins to say thanks.
Solar FireThis is a project to create an open source solution to the worlds energy needs, by creating a solar collection array which focuses the power of the sun onto the hot plate of a sterling engine they're creating safe, clean and sustainable energy sources which are deployable the world over.

Currently building a large system in Euope and then focusing on documentation and information spreading. This is a project which demonstrates just how important your support can be, just last year it was almost forced to abandon the open source model due to funding problems - luckily for the world some kind people managed to step in and help, but they (like everyone else) need more sustained donations to ensure they can continue and expand.
Tinker ForgeModular electronic components for prototyping design projects, making hobby toys and tools or acting as a base for development. All hardware designs and software source code is shared CC, a very useful project for the FLOSH maker community.

ArduinoAn open source prototyping platform which allows users to connect their PC to electronics projects via a USB cable or wifi dongle. The device consists of a line of connectors to which sensors, motors and actuators can be attached, the on-board chip then sends and receives data to them which it decodes from the computer signal.

This is a vital piece of the maker communities toolkit, it can be used to test or manufacture designs for anything from egg painting toys to industrial robots.
Raspberry piMicro-computer for use as a development platform or complete solution to project automation and control.

One Laptop Per ChildThis is a project to give children world wide access to computer learning tools, the robust and energy efficient laptop runs open source software including group project organisation tools via mesh networking, high quality music making software, an offline wikipedia reader and all the normal FLOS tools.

Not sure of the nature of the hardware licence of their policy on sharing but this is an openness focused program which embraces open source software, has helped created open source learning tools and is very supportive of 'repair centres' and provides them detailed instructions for maintenance.
WikispeedPartnering with OSE this project aims to create a comfortable consumer car based on modular design principles which is capable of more than a hundred miles per gallon fuel economy and producible at a price point suitable for general use.
